ABOUT US
Build Green taX Consulting LLC (BuildGX) was born out of a desire to improve the built environment's carbon footprint by financially incentivizing sustainable design and development of buildings and clean energy projects with tax credits and deductions.
BuildGX implements a hybrid approach to architecture and taxes by integrating the two disciplines to maximize a project's cash flow, generate tax credits, reduce carbon footprints, and improve biodiversity and sustainability.
"Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you."
- Frank Lloyd Wright

MLA, LEED Green Associate, Enrolled Agent
BuildGX was founded by Aaron R. Coffeen after twenty plus years practicing landscape architecture, sustainable building design, and specialty tax consulting for both private companies and public accounting firms, including Big 4.
Aaron has a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of New Mexico where he was an award winning designer and specialized in sustainable site and building design. In 2010, Aaron received his U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED Green Associate accreditation for sustainable design and construction principles.
Aaron became an IRS Enrolled Agent in 2021 to better understand and represent his tax clients. Enrolled Agents have earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the IRS. Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards and, like attorneys and certified public accountants (CPAs), they have unlimited practice rights.
Aaron is active in his community and currently serves on the city of Arvada's Sustainability Advisory Committee (ASAC) that provides strategic guidance for the implementation of Sustain Arvada and other community sustainability initiatives.
With this unique background and expertise in architecture, sustainability, and tax incentives, Aaron provides fresh ideas with personalized, straightforward, technology driven solutions, and timely communication to help you optimize tax strategies and maximize incentives.
